Pataki- sacred stories
Oya - Yansa : Fierce Warrior, Queen of the dead, Goddess of the Storms, Gate keeper of the Cemetery.
During war she is said to use a machete, wearing a 9 colored skirt representing Eggun (the dead), and a belt made of skulls; to defeat her obstacles/enemies.
The love of her life was Shango, the fought many battles together...
Here's a Pataki (sacred story) of Oya & Shango ((one of my favorites))
Oya Saves Shango
Shango was surrounded by his enemies, trying to escape he lost his horse, yet he still managed to arrive to the village where Oya lived. There in that village no one knew about Oya & Shango's relationship. When Shango arrived to to Oya's home he burst through the door, finding Oya sitting at the table; out of breath, he said to her "Oya, my enemies have me surrounded, they are going to kill me. My lightening bolts are not enough to defeat my enemies." Oya calmly asked Shango "Why, are you lacking the courage needed to fight?"
Shango responded "I'm not lacking the courage, I'm just tired, if there was a way I could escape from my enemies I will be able to regain my strength and the desire to defeat my enemies. Help me Oya help me to escape from them."
Oya quickly began to think of ideas on how she could help Shango. Moments later Oya grabbed her machete and she cut off her long beautiful braided hair.
Shango with a confused look asked Oya "Oya what are you doing, how does you cutting off your hair going to help me?"
Oya did not reply, she only handed him her long braided hair. She then grabbed her 9 colored scarf, placed the braided hair to the back of Shango's head, tied the scarf to his head so that the braid would remain in place. She then gave Shango her dress that she would use daily to visit the marketplace, and her burgundy hooded robe.
She helped Shango dress-up to pretend to be her.
Oya explained to to Shango that now his enemies will think that he was Oya.
Once the night was upon them Oya told Shango to escape.
Shango dressed with Oya's clothing and her burgundy hooded robe, slightly covering his face, and Oya's long braided hair hanging over his shoulder; he walked right pass his enemies, greeting them by knowing his head, without speaking a word, being that his voice is too strong to even pretend to sound like a woman.
Shango was able to escape, and he was able to find his horse, Echinle.
Once Shango was well rested, he was ready for war, angrier than ever. Still dressed in Oya's clothing, Shango went to war and by his side was Oya with all of her sacred weapons, and without her long braided hair. Shango and Oya defeated all of the enemies and ever since then Oya was known to always fight alongside her love Shango, and because of the Oya earned the love and the respect of Shango........❤️❤️❤️❤️

Oshun Rich Overnight
There was once a time where Oshun was very poor. She lived by the river, and she only had one white dress that she would wash everyday in that river; until eventually the dressed turned yellow. She didn't have any money to buy any food, and that day she didn't have any luck fishing in the lake, so she decided to go for a walk to see if she could find something to eat. As she began her journey she seen from a far three men on their horses draped in jewelry and fancy clothing heading her way.
She became nervous, knowing that she didn't look adequate enough to grasp one of their attention; but Oshun was naturally beautiful with beautiful long hair. She regained her confidence when she remembered a few weeks ago when she went to see Orula for a consultation and he had informed her about these three men. He also warned her not to leave with any of those men until coming back to see him.
Then men finally arrived to where Oshun was standing next to a tree, with an innocent but seductive look on her face, the three men stopped and stared. One of the men finally snapped out of the trance, got down from his horse and walked over to Oshun. He then got on one knee, bowed down, and reached for Oshun's hand, and at that moment he asked Oshun to join them for a feast they were having at the Castle.
Oshun excitedly agreed to attend, being that she was starving all she could do was think of the food she was going to eat. The man guided her to his horse, but right before she was about to hop on the horse she remembered what Orula had instructed her to do.
"My apologies, but I can not leave with you just yet. I have a few things I must do before I go on with you all" Oshun said to the men.
"It's ok we understand, but please come with us, your beautiful presence is needed in our castle." Said one of the men.
Oshun smiled, the men then gave Oshun instructions on how to arrive to the castle.
Oshun then watched the three men gallop away on their beautiful white horses. Once they were no longer insight Oshun ran to where Orula lived to tell him what had just happened.

Orula replied to her "Oshun, I instructed you to come see me before you leave with these men because these men are not nice men Oshun. Yes, they are rich and may seem nice but they are evil, and their plan is to rape and kill you Oshun."
Oshun eyes opened really wide "So, Orula what do I do, I'm starving but I don't want to die" she replied with tears stuck in her throat.
"Oshun you are strong, beautiful, and brave. I have prepared this powder for you, you will take this powder and will place some in each of their drinks." said Orula.
Oshun with much faith grabbed the bottle containing the powder and started her journey to the castle.
Arriving to the castle the three man greeted her at the door. The castle was decorated so beautifully, everything was so shinny, even the candle holders were made of gold. These men were filthy rich. As they guided her to the dinning room, there was the table filled with food, but Oshun was more afraid than hungry at this moment.
One of the men grabbed Ochun by the arm very rough, Oshun heart began to pound almost out of her chest. The man than proceeded to try to touch Oshun in an inappropriate manner but Oshun managed to escape his grip, she quickly yelled out "Why don't we all have some wine before we begin this party!"
The men agreed, Oshun ,slowly yet seductively walked over to the dinning table "I'll serve our drinks, since I am the only lady of the castle"Oshun said letting out one of her sensual giggles.
While preparing the drinks Oshun managed to pour some powder in each of the glass. She then grabbed each of the gold wine glasses snd served each men, looking at them in the eyes. They all made a toast and drank.
Seconds later the three men began to choke, cough blood and finally falling unto the ground. The three men were dead.

She sat down at the dining table enjoyed the feast that was prepared, later packing a bag full of jewelry and money, also taking one of the men beautiful horses on her journey to her new land.

That is the story of how Oshun became rich overnight💰💰💰....
